In an interview,( CPO) Chief Product Officer, Greg Peters confirmed that "An idea we’re excited about — and we’ll see how it goes, we think that giving everyone in-country access to Netflix for free for a weekend could be a great way to expose a bunch of new people to the amazing stories that we have,"

After the Quarantine 3, 2020 results. "Creating an event, and hopefully get a bunch of those folks to sign up." The development was first reported by Protocol

Previously, when Netflix gave free trials, users had to put in their payment details so, after a month of free streaming, the company could deduct the monthly charge by default. On increasing the price of Netflix subscriptions Peters said, "We do an assessment: Do we believe that we’re delivering more value to members?" he said, adding that "a North Star we hold close to our heart in this whole process is we think that we are just incredible entertainment value — and we very much want to remain an incredible value as we continue to improve the service and grow."
