Ola Electric's Series Of e-scooters Will Be Sold Directly To Buyers, Will Be Delivered From Door To Door
Ola Electric is all set to launch its first electric scooter - called the S series - in the next few days.

The company closed the open bookings for the Ola Series S on July 15 (reservation amount closed at Rs 499 fully refundable) and within 24 hours has accumulated over 1 lakh orders for the e-scooter. Now, Tech2 has come to know about Ola Electric's plan to directly sell its e-scooters to buyers to avoid the traditional dealer network path and deliver the Ola S series electric scooters directly to the homes of the buyers.
Ola Electric uses a direct selling model
As a newcomer to the scooter business, Ola Electric - which sees itself as a tech mobility start-up and not an automaker - has chosen a different path than the established two-wheeler brands. Ola will use a direct selling model so that the entire buying process is between the manufacturer and the buyer so that Ola does not have to build a traditional dealer network, which would be a resource-intensive task. Mercedes-Benz is going to introduce this sales model in India from the end of this year and Tesla has also adopted the same model across the world.
Ola has set up a separate logistics department to facilitate the direct purchasing process so that potential buyers can fill out essential documents, loan applications, and other similar activities online. This logistics team makes sure that the scooter is registered and delivered directly to the customer's address. While luxury automakers like Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar Land Rover have been offering home delivery of vehicles to customers for some time, Ola will be the first to mass-produce such a model.
While this approach saves the resources required to make Ola a wide retail chain, it also means that the company can meet the demand at any location across India. Whether on the subway or in Level III city, anyone looking to buy an Ola electric motorcycle can do so because Ola makes sure the S-series arrives at your respective location.
