Recently, a rare yellow turtle was rescued from a pond in Burdwan located in West Bengal. On Tuesday, October 27 Debashish Sharma from the Indian Forest Services tweeted some pictures of the turtle in a post on social media and also shared details about this.

A rare species turtle of an unusual yellow colour. Its colour has been associated with either genetic mutation or congenital disorder due to the absence of the tyrosine pigment.

POST ABOUT THE RESCUE OPERATION

In his post on Twitter, Debashish Sharma shared details of the rescue operation.

"Today, a yellow turtle was rescued from a pond in Burdwan, West Bengal. It's one kind of a rarely occurring flap shell turtle. It's an albino kind whose peculiar yellow colour is maybe because of either some genetic mutation or congenital disorder due to absence of tyrosine pigment," Debashish Sharma said in the caption of the post.
