Sushant Singh Rajput was born on 21 January 1986 in Patna city (India). His father KK Singh was a government officer. They have four sisters. His mother died in 2002. Sushant Singh Rajput studied at Karen High School in Patna and further studies at Kulachi Hansraj Model School in Delhi. He earned a Mechanical Engineering degree at Delhi College of Engineering in Delhi. Currently, this college is called Delhi Technological University.

It was only after joining a class that he realized that he should pursue a career in acting. Because in the class in which he was learning dance, some of the students used to go to Bari John's drama class too. Those students also had an impact on Sushant Singh and he too started going to that class.

While there he understood that he could act very well and he also liked acting. Within a few months, she was included in a good dance group in Davar. In the 51st Filmfare Awards ceremony held in 2005, Sushant Rajput was also in the group of background dancers. The 2006 Commonwealth Games event was held in Australia. Cultural programs were organized in it. Rajput was included in that too.

At that time, he was very tired of studying his engineering and also fell into the paper and he could not feel like studying. But at the same time, his interest in dance and drama was increasing. It was then that he decided to quit engineering and started focusing solely on dicing and acting.

Sushant moved to Mumbai to work in films and worked for two-and-a-half years at Nadira Babbar's 'Unite' theater. During that time he worked in advertising for the Nestlé stage on TV. That advertisement had become very famous all over the country. In 2008, Sushant was acting in the drama of the united theater, when the team of Balaji Telefilms saw him acting and all were quite impressed. He also invited Rajput to audition a few days later and got the chance to play Preet Juneja in the show 'Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil'. But the character he played dies very soon in that show. He played an important character in a famous serial like Pavitra Rishta. He got the limelight from here and found a way to go to films only through this serial. From June 2009, Sushant Singh Rajput played Deshmukh, a very intelligent and serious human being in the holy relationship. The way he acted in this serial was highly appreciated by all. In May 2010, Rajput also appeared in the 'Zara Nachke Dikha 2' dance reality show. Parineeti Chopra and Vaani Kapoor were seen in Rajput's second film Shuddh Desi Romance. The film was directed by Manish Sharma and produced by Yash Raj Film. The film was based on a live-in relationship and was made in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Sushant Singh Rajput got an opportunity to work with Rajkumar Hirani's 2014 PK film opposite Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma. His film proved to be a super hit film and the film also earned a lot at the box office.
