Avoid fried foods

Fried and oily foods should completely be avoided during fasting as they can cause acidity. You can replace it with other foods like multigrain roti to keep yourself healthy.

Complete No to tea or coffee

Caffeine can worsen your health! It is recommended to avoid tea or coffee during your Karva Chauth vrat as they have caffeine which can cause headaches or acidity. Opt for fruit juice, coconut water, etc. But if you really want to have a cup of tea to kick start your day then have green tea or any other herbal teas as a replacement.

No to huge consumption of sweets

Mithai or sweets are an important part of Karva Chauth or any festival. But one should avoid huge consumption of the same as sweets can make you dehydrated and increase your hunger. Instead, have dry fruits like dates, apricots, almonds, walnuts, pistachios, etc. They will give you good fats and nutrients.

Now let’s know what you need to have to keep your health fit while doing the vrat:

Have Yoghurt

Include yogurt in the Sargi as it aids in the digestion process and is a good probiotic. Yogurt will satiate your hunger.

Lime water

The best way to keep yourself energized for the entire day is to have lime water with salt and sugar. It will not only regulate your digestion process but will also keep you hydrated by balancing the alkaline level in the body.

The first thing to do while breaking the vrat is to have one glass of freshwater or juice. Then consume lots of protein-rich foods. Don’t forget to avoid too much sugary stuff. Lastly before going to bed remember to have lots of water to hydrate your body well.
