Remarkable Initiative: Digital India Aatmanirbhar App Innovation Challenge

The Ministry of electronics and information (Meity) with the collaboration of Atal Innovation Mission (Niti Aayog) has inaugurated a Digital India Aatmanirbhar App Innovation Challenge to create Indian apps that can be used globally and to encourage enthusiasm among the Indian tech and start-up community.

After banning 69 Chinese apps, the Indian Government has brought a lucrative opportunity to exhilarate the talent of Indian technologists. This decision will not only fulfill our requirements but it will also compete with the world in building innovative applications. This challenge will be executed in two tracks.

Track1: Promotion of existing apps.

This will help to identify the best Indian apps and add more constructive features in them. This whole process has to be accomplished within one month of the stipulated time period.

Track2: Development of new applications

Through this process, numerous app developers will build their own apps with the support of the Government in incubation and prototype as well.

It will be conducted under 8 categories which are –

• Office productivity & work from home
• Social Networking
• E-learning
• Entertainment
• Health & Wellness
• Business including Agritech and Fintech
• News
• Games
• The detailed information about the subcategories is available on –http://innovate.mygov.in. The date of the registration has been closed by 18^th July 2020. Indian entrepreneurs and start-ups are eligible to get registered as an applicant. The winners will be declared by 8^th Aug 2020. The efficiency of the applications will be evaluated by these four parameters-
• Ease of Use
• Robustness
• Security features

Scalability

The candidates have to qualify both the first stage and second stage which are- screening of eligible entries and evaluation by Jury with actual demo respectively. The decision of the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) will be final and binding with regard to selection on all stages

 The first, second, and third winners in each category will be awarded by 20 lakhs, 15 lakhs, 10 lakhs and the first, second, and third winners in each subcategory will be awarded by 5lakhs, 3 lakhs, 2lakhs  respectively. Apart from winners will be provided proper mentorship, direction, visibility for their enthusiastic cooperation in making a Digital India through their world-class apps.

  Numerous companies from Jaipur, Hyderabad, Chennai, and other places are now performing with excellence in entrepreneurship and tech start-ups. The recently launched tech platforms like Aadhaar, UPI, Digilocker, GeM, Aarogya Setu, and many other video-conferencing android applications like jio meet have vividly revealed the true potential of Indian app developers in building useful apps.

 Therefore India Aatmanirbhar App Innovation Challenge is obviously a remarkable initiative towards unleashing several new IT professionals and app developers. Not only they will win exciting cash prizes but also they will get featured on the leaderboard. We are hopeful that this challenge will bring sufficient sustenance to alleviate the appetite of android applications in the Indian app market. Through this app innovation challenge, several Indian tech start-ups will gain meticulous ideation, guidance, and the roll-out of their creative and functional apps in the world tech-platforms of marketing.
