Amazon Has Come Up With Essentials And Grocery Delivery Service In Kolkata

Amazon India has now launched its services in essentials and grocery under the brand Amazon Fresh in Kolkata. Kolkata has now come on the list for Amazon Fresh!

The company announced this on Thursday. The e-commerce major had even mentioned that they are planning to start the services in some other cities as well which includes Ahmedabad, Pune, and Chennai.

"With this expansion of Amazon Fresh, the company now has more than 25 such Amazon Fresh centers, with a three-fold increase in processing space," company officials said.

This step of Amazon will definitely take it to a different level.

In a recent interview, Prakash Kumar Dutta Amazon India’s VP said "We have ramped up our operational capabilities in cities where we already offered this service, and added four new cities ahead of the festive season to meet customer needs".

Not only that they have come up with specialized infrastructure to ensure safe storage of products. This includes the freezer, refrigeration zones, and special packaging for frozen foods and many such things. To ensure the quality and availability of the product.

One more facet of the concern is the competitive market as there are already major players already in the game. Bigbasket and Grofers are existing members and to come together to their position or to compete with them would be quite challenging for them.

However, the new the better.  Online delivery service for essentials and grocery has new big players as well like Jio Mart, Flipkart, and now Amazon as well.

According to estimates, online grocery is likely to grow at a CAGR (compound annual rate of growth) of 50 percent between the financial year 20-24.

 This not where it ends as earlier this month, the e-commerce giant has even announced its entry into the online food delivery business! Yes, you read it right .. Amazon has started its food delivery service in a few pin codes in Bengaluru. Isn’t this amazing?

The way Amazon is expanding to various categories is definitely making it a one-stop for all online users for their needs and utility.
