As A Film Person I Am Worried And Hopes For Better Future - Aamir Khan On OTT Film Release

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan was busy filming his upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha in Kargil, a Hindi adaptation of the 1994 Six Academy Awards Hollywood film Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks. While the film was originally slated for a Christmas release last year, it was postponed due to the unprecedented pandemic. Laal Singh will be Aamir's first film after the 2018 released film "Thugs of Hindostan" was directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. After three years of absenteeism from the big screen, "Perfectionist" Aamir Khan finally has an upcoming release.

With the Covid-19 pandemic wreaking havoc across the country, theaters and cinemas are either nearby or operating with limited occupancy in each state. While many films have been released on OTT platforms in recent months, Akshay Kumar's “Bell Bottom” is gearing up for its theatrical release on August 19 amid Covid restrictions. The creators of "Laal Singh Chaddha" are also expecting a Christmas theatrical release. Aamir Khan has voiced his concerns about movies going the streaming route.

Aamir Khan expressed his concerns about the matter at an event in Mumbai on Wednesday, according to a report from indianexpress.com. While Aamir acknowledged that it was a complicated subject with many factors to consider, he said, “There are some movies that are shown on OTT platforms and as a movie buff I'm very concerned. I hope things will improve in the near future ”.

The actor also spoke about the company's collaboration in controlling the situation and urged people to get vaccinated. “It's not easy to talk about reopening cinemas. Cinemas can only be opened if the health situation improves and we as a society are in control of the Covid-19 situation, we are all trying to work, ”the actor said. He added: "As more and more people get vaccinated, things are improving."
