Dilip Kumar, whose birth name is Mohammed Yusuf Khan, was a veteran Indian actor and sponsor. He was always praised for his beautiful screen performances and was often referred to as the "First Khan" for bringing the acting technique to Indian cinema. Dilip Kumar first appeared in 1944 with the film Sauti Jwar Bhata and became famous in 1947 with the commercially successful Jugnu film. With a stellar career for more than five decades, Dilip Kumar had appeared in more than 60 cinemas and had successfully built a huge fan base. Dilip Kumar was hospitalized after complaining of shortness of breath and was released a few days later when the actor recovered. Unfortunately, he passed away on July 7, 2021, at 7:30 am.   • On December 11, 1922, Dilip Kumar was born Muhammad Yusuf Khan in Peshawar (present-day Pakistan).
  • In the 1940s, Kumar allegedly left his home in Mumbai after a quarrel with his father. He travelled to Pune and opened a sandwich stand at the Army Club. After spending some time saving almost Rs 5,000, Kumar returned to Mumbai.
  • The owner of Bombay Talkies, Actor Devika Rani asked Yusuf to change his name. In 1944Dilip signed his first film, "Jwar Bhata," after joining the company. It is believed that Ashok Kumar gave him advice that persuaded Dilip to act normally.
  • At the age of 89, Dilip Kumar made his Twitter debut.
  • In 1966, Dilip married Saira Bana, who was 22 years younger than him. He allegedly refused to work with her and thought he would look too young for her. Fortunately, she loved him and recommended him.
  • In 1981 he married a woman named Asma Rehman, whom he met during a cricket match. The marriage lasted no more than two years.
  • In a career spanning more than 6 decades, Dilip has starred in more than 60 films.
  • In 1979-1982, Dilip was appointed Sheriff of Mumbai and Governor of Maharashtra.
  • Padma Bhushan, the third-highest award of an Indian citizen, was awarded for his contribution to the Indian film world.
  • In 1994 he was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Prize.
  •  In 2015, Dilip Padma awarded Vibhushan, the second national award in India.
  •  Dilip was also awarded by Nishan-e-Imtiaz, the highest honor given to a citizen by the Pakistani government in 1998.
