 Academic achievements are seen as a benchmark for a successful career but smashing the stereotype many instances come forward in entrepreneurship. India is filled with masses of people experimenting with new avenues. However, very few entrepreneurs have attained the ability to dip their toe in multiple endeavors and sticking to the ones that relate. Jimmy Mistry is one of them. The 49-year-old entrepreneur knew his path was different, since the beginning. He started his journey with businesses and entrepreneurship back in 1991. His enterprise is admired and appreciated within the country and across borders.

Jimmy was grown up in a modest Parsi family – his father worked as a salesperson for almost 33 years. Jimmy got dropped out of his engineering to become an entrepreneur. In the year 1991, he sold-off his bike and gathered an amount of Rs 20,000/- to establish his first business of pest control services and then grew up to become the owner of a multi-millionaire enterprise.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

“I have seen my father as someone extremely dedicated to his work and doing hardcore sales throughout life,” Jimmy said.

1991- He began his entrepreneurial journey with a pest control company in Mumbai.

1993- He took up his first civil repair contracting project with the Design Center.

1996- A self-taught design and architecture enthusiast, he set up his showroom that was the 1st in India to exhibit Italian furniture. He further went on to be the sole selling distributor for 27 Italian Brands.

1997- He set-up his first furniture manufacturing factory in Daman that is operational to date.

2000- Started taking up Turkey Interior and Architectural services for leading corporate in India. With his endeavor running successfully, he designed headquarters for some of the largest brands and took on architecture & master planning projects pan-India. 

2003- He won the ‘Urban Heritage Award’ by the Indian Heritage Society for the Rustom Framna Agiary in Dadar.

2008- Got into developing a second home gated community by setting up Della Villas, a 24-villa pilot project in Lonavala, Maharashtra.



2009- Pioneered in setting up India’s First Extreme Adventure Park in Lonavala with more than 70 activities.

2010-Ventured into Hospitality by the launching CAMP DELLA Resort. Della Group has set up 6 Resorts.

2017- Set up D.A.T.A. Resort - India’s first Counter-Terrorism Training Academy for civilians and luxury military-themed resort. He also dedicated a restaurant to Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw.

As the above description has shown, leading to diversification in other building interior needs. He soon realized the scope of business in the area of luxury furniture and partnered with a few Italian brands to introduce luxury furniture in India. His company soon set up their first showroom in Mumbai and established branches at Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chennai. He also set up a branch in Dubai to scale internationally. His expertise in luxury furniture got him many turkey commercial contracts – Jimmy proceeded to scale his business, relentlessly.

His continuous efforts soon famous him as one of the best minds in India when it came to designing spaces. His company “Della Technica” ventured into almost everything that involved luxury. He launched premium real estate in Mumbai and set up the famous Della Adventure Park at Lonavala, Maharashtra which has several hospitalizes Hotels, Suites, Villas, Spas, Many Multi-cuisine Restaurants, an Adventure Park and Training Facility, and many more. 

 Further, he also set up one of India’s largest galleries of interior products showcasing Interior designing for Home, Office, Hotels, and others. He is also often invited to talk about ‘Designs’ at various reputed conferences.
