Trade between India and Afghanistan has come to a standstill as soon as the Taliban took power. That is, neither Indian goods can go to Afghanistan, nor can anything come to India from Afghanistan. The Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) said on Thursday that the Taliban have closed all transit routes to Pakistan. Because of this all imports and exports from India have stopped. FIEO Director General Ajay Sahai said that the Taliban have sealed their border with Pakistan. Most of the imports from Afghanistan come through the transit route through Pakistan. In such a situation, import-export of millions of dollars has stopped.

FIEO Director General Ajay Sahai told that the Taliban has stopped the movement of goods to Pakistan, so almost all the imports have been stopped. According to FIEO, the prices of dry fruits in India may increase in the near future, as India imports about 85 percent of these items from Afghanistan. On the export side, Sahai said that some goods were being exported through the International North-South Corridor and others were going through the Dubai route. Despite this, he expressed hope that business relations may improve in the coming times.

Prices of dry fruits will increase

After the Taliban occupation in Afghanistan, the business of dry fruits coming to India from there has been badly disrupted. Due to this, the prices of dry fruits in India have increased significantly. This is because of the ongoing standoff in Afghanistan and the reduction in imports. Apart from this, traders have increased the rates due to the fear of their shortage. By the way, it is believed that their prices will continue to increase for the coming few months.
