About 117 individuals are undergoing treatment at various medical facilities, including the Kallakurichi Government Medical College and Hospital, and hospitals in Salem, Villupuram, and the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) in Puducherry. Of those hospitalized, the condition of 28 persons is critical.
A 71-member team of specialist doctors, including experts in General Medicine, Anaesthesia, and Nephrology, along with staff nurses and technicians, has been dispatched from Government Medical College and Hospitals in Salem, Villupuram, Tiruvannamalai, Tiruchy, and Chengalpattu to assist at the Kallakurichi medical college and hospital.
