Shradha Sharma was born in Bihar and grew up in Patna, India. She is the founder of YourStory which is a digital storytelling platform for startups and entrepreneurs.

Early Life And Work

Shradha did her bachelor's and master's degree in History from st. Stephen's College, Delhi. She then did her MBA from Mudra Institute Of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA)

Soon after completing her education, Shradha started working as a brand advisor at The Times Of India. Later, she went on to join the team of CNBC TV18 and became the assistant vice president.

The Story Of YourStory

Shradha saw the need for a platform that gave entrepreneurs and start-ups a place to tell their stories. She felt that there were so many untold yet inspirational and powerful stories out there that were waiting to be listened to but did not get provided with a worthy platform. That is when she went on and ventured into the world of entrepreneurship herself. 

Shradha started YourStory on October 1, 2008. It started off as a small yet strong and enthusiastic group. 

Shradha's motive was to provide entrepreneurs, start-ups, investors, innovators and anyone who believed in making a change,

With a platform, where they can tell their stories, the stories that really matter, stories that come from one's heart, stories that have meaning to them, stories that are driven by their passion, strong and powerful stories.

Like anyone else, Shradha too faced a lot of failures, she had to face many ups and downs but she never gave up. This was something she knew that she wanted to do. Her previous experience from working at The Times Of India and CNBC gave her an edge as she had the knowledge of running media businesses.

Success

In the year 2015, YourStory hit it off and it is now India's largest media-tech company for startups, entrepreneurs, innovators, and anyone who wants to make a change.

YourStory is defined as the single most definitive storytelling platform.

Their flagship event- Techsparks has become India's biggest start-up summit.

With a passionate team of over 100 people, YourStory is home to more than 70,000 stories and has a reader base of 1 million. Their Content comes in 11 local languages and it has become a prominent start-up eco-system builder in India.

Achievements

YourStory received the NASSCOM Ecosystem Evangelist Award for efforts in building an inclusive start-up community.

Shradha received the Villgro Journalist of the Year Award in 2010 for her coverage of startups.

In the year 2015,

In 2016,

YourStory received the PAT Memorial Outstanding Alumnus Award And It was listed under

YourStory has also received investments from Ratan Tata, Vani Kola, Karthee Madasamy, and T.V. Mohandas Pai. Shradha is one of the most inspiring women in India today. She took a leap and left a job that could probably provide her with all the luxuries of the world to start something she felt strongly about.
