Deadline For Filing Belated Income Tax Return Extended To November 30

Today, The Income Tax Department declared an extended period in the case of Filing Belated Income Tax Return of year 2019-20 (monetary year 2018-19) to November 30. This step taken by the authority after observing the recent time sensitive situation "troubles faced by the citizens due to COVID-19 pandemic", the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), that's what make the body of the Income Tax Department high-rated, said in an announcement.

As such, those hoping to record a late return, or update a previously documented return, for money created between April 2018 and March 2019 would now be able to do as such work till November 30. Until today, the due date for outfitting these personal government forms (ITRs) was September 30.

Presently, assessees won't have the option to record a remiss return for this period after November 30 except if the Income Tax Department requests it.
