Karan Johar To Bring C. Sankaran Nair's life On The Big Screen; Karan Tyagi Announced As Director

Production of Karan Johar and Dharma does not stop! While most of the films are in progress, the director announced a brand new Tuesday morning, and this time it’s come from the history book. Karan Johar, Dharma, and the team are preparing to tell the anonymous story of legend lawyer C. Sankaran Nair, who was deeply involved during British rule in India.

Attending the official announcement, Karan also announced that Karan Tyagi will support the project. He wrote: "I am delighted and honored to bring the unwritten story of C. Sankaran Nair, a historical figure to the big screen. Led by @karanstyagi. For more information coming soon, keep watching!"

Although the film’s directors have not yet announced, Karan shared that the film will continue soon. Explaining the main purpose of the film, Karan revealed that "it would open the military court battle fought by Sankaran Nair against a British court to reveal the truth about the murder of Jallianwala Bagh."

The film, inspired by real events, is adapted from Raghu Palati and Pushpa Palati's book "The Case That Shook The Empire" 1857 C. Sankaran Nair was born in 1915. He was appointed as a member of the Viceroy's Council. In 1919 he criticized the British authorities in his writings and pointed to various shortcomings in the system. He also tabled amendments, which were later accepted by the British Government.
